Robert L. Hughes
Winfield, Pennsylvania
A lifelong love of art originally led me into wanting to create paintings for my own home. Classes at the Art Association of Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, and other workshops were a tremendous influence.
I’ve exhibited with the Seven Lively Artists since 1999 and have taught oil painting classes at the ‘Y’ Art Center in Sunbury. Working in oils, I enjoy painting both ‘en plein air’ and in my studio. Many of my works are inspired by my love of travel, especially to Great Britain.
In my paintings I try to capture my appreciation of the beauty of nature and historic architecture. I also enjoy the challenge of the portraiture.
